Aug 16, 2023Tragic last Instagram posts of daredevil who fell to his death from skyscraper
This is the last post shared on Instagram by stuntman Remi Lucidi before he plummeted to his death from the 68th floor of a skyscraper in Hong Kong.
The 30-year-old had been climbing the 721-foot Tregunter Tower complex, in the city’s Mid-Levels area, when the incident happened.
Local media suggested the Frenchman had been seen by a maid knocking on the windows of the penthouse to get back inside, but fell before any help could arrive.
The last picture he shared on social media – just days before his death – was taken from another high-rise in Hong Kong, showing the city’s crowded skyline.
It was accompanied by the caption ‘Hong Kong’ with a love heart emoji.
Another post from July 16 showed Mr Lucidi posing for a selfie while balancing on metal stairs at the top of a building in Gabrovo, Bulgaria.
‘Life is too short to chase unicorns,’ his caption read.
Known for his extreme stunts in skyscrapers, cranes and bridges all over the world, he quickly gathered a large following on Instagram.
No stranger to putting his life in danger, the adventurer posted selfies from Sofia, Bangkok, Dubai, Lisbon and even Chernobyl.
The Montpellier native appears to have been part of a network of similar-minded daredevils who would occasionally meet up to climb a tower, crane or television mast together.
Reactions to his photos to some of the highest buildings in the world were mixed, ranging from admiration to anger.
